Stella’s MRI & IVDD Surgery

What’s that saying when everything starts to crumble down on you all at once and you feel like you have no where to go?…
All I know is that IT TAKES A VILLAGE.
Hi, my name is Crystal and my partner Alex and I, are SOOOOO lucky to be pawrents to Stella, our 2 1/2 year old French Bulldog.
Last week , Stella was experiencing her third, what we thought was a flare up with “IVDD.”
She went from being super excited to spend the weekend with her grandparents to shaking, weak hind legs, urinating on herself and crying of pain.
At this time, Stella was not diagnosed with IVDD because an MRI would be anywhere from $5500-$7000. Those are some BIG numbers, but at her second flare up, the doctors said “we aren’t there yet.”
Well, this go around- we were there and I had to take Stella to a hospital, which was WAYS away from us in RedBank, NJ where she was seen by a phenomenal neurosurgeon, Dr. Glass, who was very honest and apologetic about the ordeal our Stella girl was going to have to go through.
They took Stella from my arms, where I was also shaking because I didn’t know how we were going to go through this financially, but I knew I couldn’t give up on my girl. She’s just a baby.
This surgery can cost anywhere from $13,000-$17,000.
Stella spend the next 5 days in the hospital undergoing emergency IVDD surgery to give her a fighting chance to be a dog again, not only a dog, but a walking dog. Where she can go back to doing all the things she loves, like playing in the park with a ball, getting zoomies because she is just so happy to see her mom & dad come home after being at work for 8-10 hours a day or just going for walks to see all her friends.
Stella is home now with a long road to recovery.
We are praying that she makes a full recovery in the next 6-8 weeks with strict crate rest, taking all 7 of her medications and lots of love from HER VILLAGE. ❤️
