Stem Cell Therapy for Emily's MS
Donation protected
Thanks to ALL of the donors towards my life changing treatment! I was able to pay my deposit to secure my appointment for 2nd January! I have more time to raise more funds to make this possible!
In 2006, at the age of 20, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I have been on several medications (Avonex, Copaxon and Tecfidera) all of which have given me terrible side effects and failed me...
This May I had my most recent relapse that resulted in vertigo, balance issues, instability, hip and back pain, as well as cognitive function. Regretfully, I am still dealing with these issues. I could get on a different medication that costs me thousands of dollars EACH year...for the rest of my life or I can go a completely different route and get stem cells.
I have been approved at the Stem Cell Institute's Multiple Sclerosis clinic in Panama City, Panama. The United States does not currently offer stem cell treatment (there is nothing unethical about this procedure) so my only option is to travel for this potentially life changing treatment. This doesn't just "lessen the chances of relapses by 40%" but rather eliminates inflammation and can HEAL the myelin sheath surrounding my nerves.
Since it is not in the United States it is not covered by insurance. The cost of the procedure will take care of a week or treatment, physical therapy, my hotel stay, and transportation.
I am a single mother, with a chronic disability asking for help...to turn around my health and my life, because my next unexpected relapse could put me in a wheelchair temporarily or permanently.
Any amount is greatly appreciated!
