Conquer Kellie's MS with Stem Cell Transplant
Donation protected
Hello, our names are Devon and Wes. Our Mom Kellie is 42 and has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After a few years of unusual symptoms; losing vision and then it returning along with extreme fatigue. No real diagnosis came, but she continued to push forward working full time and being a super active mom to her two “amazing” kids.
In the fall of 2023 she suddenly started losing feeling in her feet and legs, with electric shocks being sent through her body.
MRIs showed multiple lesions in her brain and down her spine. She has spend months working at maintaining her mobility and dealing with this life changing news all while her symptoms keep rapidly progressing.
MS is a disease where each relapse can be minor, or life-altering. Your immune system is in a game of Russian Roulette with your brain, and slowly destroying itself.
Our aim is to send our Mom to Mexico to "reset" her immune system by intense chemotherapy and stem cell transplant. This is called HSCT. Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. This will put a halt to her MS and hopefully give her a chance to get back to the life she loves. Snowboarding, running, hiking, mountain biking and being in the mountains with us is the way of life for our Mom.
She has been approved for March 3rd to get this expensive but highly effective stem cell treatment to try and stop the disease progression altogether the only other option is to go on immune-suppressing drugs for the rest of her life in the hope they will slow the disease down. Unfortunately, while HSCT is more mainstream in the UK and US, it is not available outside medical trials in Canada. She desperately needs this treatment. The cost is $82,000 and we will be trying every way possible to achieve this goal for our Mom.
We are really hoping our friends and family can help.
With all our love,
Devon and Wes
