Stemmer Family
Hello All,
As many of you know, I'm Emily Roy, a close personal friend of the Stemmers. The money is intended to support both Katie and Nakita through the next few years with daily life expenses (housing, transportation, childcare, therapy). The funds will be withdrawn to Katie as beneficiary and divided equally between them.
On July 12, 2021 there was a collapse of a crane in downtown Kelowna. With the collapse multiple families have been affected by the loss of loved ones.
Among those tragically lost were brothers Eric and Patrick Stemmer. These men are husbands, fathers, sons, friends and chosen family to so many, this sudden loss is nothing short of heartbreaking.
The lives of Katie (children: Oaklyn and Tillie, and baby on route) and Nakita (children: Henley and Hayden) will never be the same. So much has changed in such a short time span and these women are bravely tackling grief and figuring everything out as they go. We need to be there for them and support them in this time of tragedy and loss.
Grief is like an ocean it comes in many waves, a constant ebb and flow. The only thing we can do is hold on and try to swim, regardless if the waters are calm or overwhelming. We have the opportunity to be a lighthouse amongst the storm for these families. Money doesn’t fix anything, however it can provide support and self care that these women are in need of.
In these times of grief you are not alone. There are people in your corner to help navigate through these horrific events of life. It takes a village to get through life, and your village has you.
