Step Up for Em! Paying it forward after GBS

Donation protected
On 15th January 2024 our family and life as we knew it changed in a second. After battling what we thought was 'just' double pneumonia, our gorgeous girl Emily developed acute Guillain-Barre Syndrome, fought to stay alive, and spent 5 months in hospital, mainly in Edinburgh Sick Kids Critical Care Unit, with family having the services of Ronald McDonald House Edinburgh for 149 days. Today our girl thrives thanks to the love, expertise and support of both, and now it's time to raise money to pay it forward for families in the future. Please help us hit our target, and support the families of ill children when they truly need it the most. We want to fund tech for the critical care unit (Emily was non-verbal for a lot of her stay there and and a borrowed ipad was a life saver - we want as many rooms as possible in critical care to have one as standard) and we want to fund a family room for a year at Ronald McDonald House Edinburgh to celebrate Emily's survival, recovery, and daily progress. This September #TeamEmily will raise awareness of her story, and for 21 days (one for each week in hospital) we will step up 149 steps (one for each day spent in hospital) to aid recovery- everything is physio :) - and all get fit after the most challenging year of our lives! Join us, in whatever way you can, and raise awareness and funds for our causes. Thank you.
