Stephanie Almond custody battle

Hello,

I am Stephanie Almond. I am creating this Gofundme because I am going through an intense custody battle for my son. I was hesitant to start a Gofundme because I wouldn't want to burden anyone, especially asking for money, but a friend encouraged me by saying, "it never hurts to ask the people around you for help, especially when they are in your corner and want to help you! They just need to know what you need." Most of the people that are close to me know that I am going through a custody battle. I am fighting to get primary custody of my son, who longs to be with me. I know; it seems like if he longs to be with me, it shouldn't be such a complicated case, but l am dealing with the court system, a minor, and I genuinely think a spiritual battle is going on here.

It didn't get solved in mediation, which is what I was hoping for. I am asking for primary, but even getting one extra day and making things fair would have been a victory for us, but the other party was still being unreasonable and wouldn’t even do that in mediation.

Many minute details must be shined in trial to paint the whole picture that has been happening over the last four years that mediation couldn’t reveal, and the true heart and intentions of each party. I am putting my faith into action. I prayed, talked with God, and discussed different scenarios with my husband, and I feel confident in going to trial, and I truly have peace about it. I don't want to go into too much detail about the case since it is active right now, but I know it's not meant for me to tap out! The financial part seems daunting because we are paying for everything. We already had to pay $6,600.00, but now that we are going to trial, of course, the cost doesn't stop there. We are still having to pay the cost for my attorney plus the GAL fees, but I know God will make a way. I am asking boldly if God lays it on your heart to fight with us 1. to pray for us most importantly, and 2. To give what God lays on your heart!

I want to go ahead and thank everyone in advance. God knows how much we need, so whatever we get will be a tremendous blessing. It means so much to us to have a community of people that will lift us up and be there for us. Living communally, being there for each other in different seasons of life, and supporting others in times of hard seasons is so special, and a blessing to all.
