In memory of Edward Latourette
written by Ed’s brother in-law Peter DeFeo
It is with the deepest sympathy and remorse that I chose to write this very difficult passage on behalf of our beloved Ed. On April 24th, 2020, Ed unfortunately succumbed to his month long battle with the horrific Corona virus. It is very important for everyone who reads this to know that he didn’t go easily, he was a fighter to the bitter end.
Ed was a history teacher at Curtis highschool for over 19 years, he loved his job and the kids he gave knowledge to. He was also one of the nicest human beings you could have ever meet, never raised his voice, got mad or spoke negatively about anyone. That’s why this is so difficult to write.
Ed married Stefanie on April 11th 2014, and since that day it was all smiles and undeniable love. Although they were only married for 6 years, if you would have seen them together you would have thought they were together for 50 years. Stefanie knew everything about Ed and Ed knew everything about Stefanie. It was a beautiful healthy and joyous relationship. Then on October 16th 2018, there family grew stronger with a blessing from God in the form of a beautiful baby girl, Ella Rose. It was such a beautiful sight to see the 3 of them together, pure joy. Whether it was watching Elmo, dancing to songs from Footloose or swimming in the pool, Eds smile was the brightest when he was with his girls. Unfortunately, God chose to take him way to early. We all need to remember the great moments we shared with him and the sweet smile he had. Ed you will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten. Rest peacefully and watch over us. We love you more than you’ll ever know
