Stephanie Bell Memorial Fund

It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Stephanie J. Bell, beloved daughter of Firefighter/Paramedic Shane Bell and Debi Bell.  Stephanie was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle while at work on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Aptos, CA at the blossoming age of 25.  No words can fully describe the immense loss that Stephanie’s family is feeling from losing their only daughter, their friend, their inspiration, their everything! 
 
While the family is coping with disbelief, they deeply appreciate the overwhelming support from Shane’s Fire Family, friends and all those that have reached out with their thoughts, prayers and support. 

Stephanie had recently graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Natural Sciences, Institute of Marine Biology culminating her degree by presenting her Undergraduate Research and Creative Work titled, “The Effects of Anthropogenic Noise on Coral health.”  Stephanie was also instrumental in research and the establishment of a sanctuary in Hilo for the Pueo Owl, endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, that were once prevalent but are now an endangered species.
 
Stephanie was an extremely intelligent, caring, compassionate and gifted young woman who loved the ocean environment and had plans to obtain her Masters and Doctorate from the University of Hawaii’s Marine Biology Graduate Program until her life was so senselessly taken from her by a distracted driver.

Stephanie was an only child and is survived by her parents Shane and Debi Bell.  All proceeds will be used to support funeral proceedings and the associated educational costs from attending the University of Hawaii.   All donations, large or small, are humbly and greatly appreciated by Stephanie’s family.
