Hi, my name is Mariela. I am starting this fund on behalf of my husband, who has tragically lost his sister.

Early Monday, August 22, 2022, Stephanie Cerna (32 years old) was walking in long beach and was hit by a car.

She was a very caring and kind soul. She always wanted to be a shoulder to lean on and always found little gifts to give those she loved. She once gave away her bed to a friend who was in need. She had dreams of studying in Hawaii and working with animals. She cared for a small dog, Papi, who was with her during the incident He stood by her side, until she passed. We were able to recover him, and he will be taken in by her parents.

The funds we are raising are to be able to cover the funeral expenses for Stephanie. Also, Stephanie's parents are both retired and low-income. This money will allow them to lay their sweet daughter to rest. This includes funds to make the trip to and from Nicaragua, and return with Stephanie's remains and Papi.

The entire family is deeply impacted by this tragic loss. Any support would be appreciated as we mourn our loss.
