STEPHANIE AND FAMILY LOST HOME TO FIRE

To those who can help,

My name is Hariklia and I am fundraising for my friend and Orthodox sister in Christ Stephanie and her family who just lost their home in a fire. At 0100 on October 23rd firefighters banged on her door. She only had time to grab her dog and phone and run out the door. Stephanie is a beautiful artist and has possibly lost all her art, precious Orthodox icons, and memories of her mother who passed away just last year. She has been through a lot the last few years and sacrificed much to take care of both her parents. While we are grateful no one was injured and for the swift response of firefighters, glory to God for them, we know Stephanie and her family will need a lot of financial help in the coming days: a new home, clothes, furniture. Everything may need replaced. Will keep you all updated on the full extent of the damage. Please pray for Stephanie and Michael and if you are able to make a donation, may it be blessed! Stephanie has been an inspiration to many people through her faith, love, and God given talents. I am not gifted with eloquence to express how much she touches our lives and our love for her, but my heart is calling me to do this because I know she and her family 1000% need our help. We have already surpassed the goal! This was posted at 2 am this morning Alaska time and we have reached the goal in less than a day! Glory to God! It is hard to fathom all their needs and put a number to it, but this is already beyond what she could have imagined. I am going to leave this posted until tomorrow after she has rested and I can let her know we reached the goal and decide what to do. If you still feel led to donate, may it be blessed, but we will assess her situation more in the coming days. Update 10/23: Thank you all so much! Your generosity is so incredible and means so much to Stephanie and her family. $5,000 of the $7,500 so far was raised in less than 6 hrs! Stephanie is overwhelmed by every one of these blessings and your love and support. She is finally getting much needed sleep after being up all night and all day. She was able to get some basic toiletries and clothes for now. May God bless you all!

They cannot survey the damage yet, but the back area of the wall of the home where her icon corner is appears intact. What a blessing that would be!
