Rita, Stephanie, and William Need Your Support

Hello all!

Rita, Stephanie, and William are currently navigating some incredibly difficult circumstances. As many of you are aware, William lost his dad (my brother, Stephanie’s husband, and Rita’s son) suddenly to a heart attack when he was 10 years old. Since then, he’s received Social Security benefits to help with his living expenses. William turns 18 on April 20th. Consequently, those minor child benefits have ceased. William lives with autism and is currently working with his doctor to secure the proper documentation to submit to Social Security for adult disability benefits.

The process to apply for these benefits and receive approval is somewhat lengthy and can take a few months. During this time, William will be without any critical financial assistance he needs. Adding insult to injury, Stephanie recently lost her job and is working tirelessly to find a new position. What’s more, Rita, navigating a host of serious medical conditions, including a very rare form of blood cancer/ lymphoma, has been critically ill and in and out of the hospital multiple times over the past few months, incurring mounting medical expenses.

As you can imagine, all of these circumstances combined have created a delicately serious financial predicament for them as a family, and it is a frightening position to be in. They are in desperate need of financial blessing to be able to cover their rent, utilities, groceries, toiletries, medicine, car repairs, and gas over the next few months while they endeavor to get William’s disability benefits in place, Stephanie secures another job and Rita focuses on trying to regain health to the best of her ability – without constant fear of how they will meet these basic obligations.

If you are able and feel led to contribute in any way – either by a cash donation, gas/grocery gift cards, or willingness to sponsor a utility bill, it would be a huge blessing. Additionally, if you know of any clerical or light administrative positions available in the Corinth/Denton area for Stephanie, please let her know. She was most recently working in childcare but has decided to transition back into an office environment. She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with clerical/corporate mailroom experience.
