Stephanie Reyes has Lung Cancer
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I write this about my sister, Stephanie.
Stephanie Reyes, a devoted wife and loving mother of two children went to the doctor in March about persistent coughing and other ailments she was suffering. As most working moms she pushed through the days and weeks and months of going to various doctors before learning the verdict.
She was diagnosed on May 17th, 2019 with Stage 4 cancer from an unknown source (still yet to be identified.) On May 20th she made the decision to go on medical leave and a few days later her employer terminated her via RIF. As you might imagine, this is an extremely stressful period as her husband is currently unemployed. He is actively looking for work as everyone in the family adjusts to the new situation with the highest priority getting Stephanie’s health back under control.
Stephanie still has her sense of humor and you will find her on many occasions saying: “You just can’t make this stuff up!”
Those who know Stephanie would vouch for her being the most loyal of friends, a caring and hard working person who gives of herself. She was a Cub Scout leader for 5 years, a Girl Scout volunteer, and currently participates at St. James RC Church in Basking Ridge as an active member of the Women's Ministry and Faith Sharing Communities. She also reminds me that she is humble and doesn’t really like to talk about her achievements or good wills.
Since her diagnosis she has had a difficult time talking since the majority of the cancer is in her lungs. She is exhausted all the time due to lack of air and has to remind herself to breathe deep on those occasions. She has lost a lot of weight and has constant pain from one thing or another. Evenings are the most difficult. We continue to search for the source of the cancer and have also decided to move forward with chemo treatment.
So many of you have started to reach out and have asked how you can help out. This page was put together as a result of your outreach and concern and is just one way you can assist. We are collecting funds to help with all aspects of her treatment, legal expenses and to help support her two young children and husband.
Stephanie and her family need our help. Any small donation would go a long way to help her family. Please keep us all in your prayers.
