Stephanie Slays Cancer

August 27, 2018 was the day we heard those words that everybody fears, “You have cancer.” Less than a week after her 32nd birthday, Stephanie was facing breast cancer.

What followed after her diagnosis was a rapid series of appointments with potential surgeons, oncologists, fertility doctors and geneticists. We found out that Stephanie has what is known as “triple negative breast cancer,” which tends to be much more aggressive and harder to treat than other forms. Stephanie has already been through nine rounds of chemotherapy, but she still has a long way to go. Once chemotherapy is finished, she will need to have surgery, followed by radiation.

Through this battle, Stephanie has become a great warrior. Like many battles, there are hardships and there are triumphs. Although many triumphs have been claimed, financial hardships are present. In addition to our medical expenses, we are dealing with Stephanie not being able to work. A minimum of $9300 out-of-pocket will be required for insurance covered procedures and chemotherapy.

We have been so blessed by all of the love, prayers and support we have received over the past few months. Things as simple as a text and letting us know we are thought of can make all the difference to us on those days when we feel down. We are also in need of financial support as we continue this journey. Our expenses include:

·         Medical Loans from past procedures
·         Chemotherapy
·         Surgery
·         Radiation
