UPDATE - 3/22/24 After surgery on 11/4/23 and everything was healed, Stephanie completed 6 rounds of Chemotherapy and 34 rounds of Radiation. After all of those treatments, she received some good news, the tumor responded well and had decreased in size by half. The next course of action, she was started on Immunotherapy. After a few treatments of immunotherapy, Stephanie noticed some weakness in her right arm and leg. As the days went on, the weakness got worse and she ended up in the ER on Saturday, March 16th. After running test, they found a small lesion on her brain. She was immediately life watched to KU Med in Kansas City. After more testing, her team of Dr.'s decided she would start radiation for the lesion. She had her first round of Radiation on Thursday, March 22nd. I spoke with Steve and Stephanie and they both reported all went well with the first round. She is currently still in the hospital. Per her Dr.'s request, all treatments will be done in Kansas City.
Stephanie had planned to start back to work on Monday, March 18th. However, with this new lesion and treatments, she is unsure when that will happen.
I know all the traveling back and forth to Kansas City is going to be very expensive for them. I am sending this GoFund Me back out asking for more donations for the family. If you are able to help donate, I know it would be appreciated so much! This is not something they wish to ask for but at this time, they could sure use all of our help. Any amount is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to help donate, please share Stephanie's story. The more people to see it, the more help we can hopefully get for the.
Thank you so very much!!

In June 2023, after going to the ER for back pain, Stephanie was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer. After meeting with her Oncology team, they decided on a treatment plan for her to complete three rounds of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, then go in and surgically remove the tumor. Chemotherapy was very successful and the tumor shrunk enough for them to proceed with surgery. Unfortunately, during surgery, it was determined that the tumor could not be removed because of it's location. After several weeks of healing, the new plan of actions was for Stephanie to complete more chemotherapy and add in radiation. During this time, Stephanie planned on working throughout her treatments. However, due to chemotherapy treatments, Stephanie ended up with severe diverticulitis. After several hospital stays and ER visits due to the diverticulitis, Stephanie ended up having emergency surgery on November 4th, 2023 which resulting in her having to get a colostomy. While in the hospital recovering from the surgery, Stephanie has some complications and she had to be life watched to Wichita for further care. Stephanie is currently in the hospital in Wichita, KS., healing from the emergency surgery and when strong enough, learning how to take care of her colostomy. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments have been put on hold until she is fully recovered and well from the surgery. Unfortunately, Stephanie will not be able to work at this time. Also, her husband Steve has had to miss a great deal of work caring for and being by her side. Stephanie has a long road ahead of her. However, if you know Stephanie, you know she is a fighter and will get through this.
Her friends have put together this GoFundMe to help Stephanie and Steve during this very unfortunate time in their lives. The last thing we want them having to worry about is all the expenses. They could use all of our help with travel expenses to and from appointments, medical bills or just to help supplement the loss of wages. Please find it in your hearts to donate whatever you can. Every dollar helps and is greatly appreciated.
Please watch for updates on Stephanie as we know more.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and I know form Stephanie and Steve as well.
