This is a heart-felt request by family, friends and co-workers of Stephanie Rodriguez, a very, very special young lady who is in desperate need of your prayers, as well as financial help with potentially costly medical needs.
Stephanie had a seizure on Memorial Day and was rushed to the hospital where she suffered a second seizure. She is now in a drug-induced coma.
To give you a better idea about who you are helping, we'd like to share one life-changing event that led to another's life being saved.
On July 27, 2012, at the age of seventeen, Stephanie and her twenty year old brother, Chris were in the Aurora movie theater where an armed man opened fire in the crowded theater.
Fleeing with several hundred others, Stephanie and her brother made it outside to the parking lot. While others continued out of harms way, Stephanie and her brother ran to a victim, Carey Rottman, who was screaming in pain with a gunshot wound in his thigh.
Stephanie immediately knelt and applied pressure with her hands then used her belt as a tourniquet to stem the flow of blood. With the help of two other people, Stephanie and Chris carried the victim out of the parking lot and the path of rushing cars and remained with him until police officers were able to transport him to the Medical Center in Aurora. He lived, in large part because of Stephanie Rodriguez's courage.
This is the friend that we ALL need in our lives and in our society, especially during these days of uncertainty.
