Stephanie's battle against Malignant sll Lymphoma
Donation protected
I have malignant lymphoma stage 4 rai c-I am currently in treatment with Imbruvica 420 mg and Ritaxmaub injusions. I went to Nashville on October 14, 2019 to see a CLL Specialist. I am currently in palliative care and can't always take care of my husband and son like I want too. I need a little help from my friends. I had been in and out of the hospitals for years and had seen many different doctor's and (specialists) for years! We didn't even realize there could be that many ways to look at a person! I first had a benign 3.5 cm nodule removed and had my thyroid removed. I now have to take medication for that for the rest of my life which is costly, because that is not covered under insurance. I have had MRI's, Ct Scans, and other ways that you shouldn't mention in public. I kept pushing for answers and finally, after years of being on a "Watch and wait" protocol, in August 2019,I had another CT Scan at my Oncologist. I had another biopsy and it was confirmed that I have Stage 4 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/ Sll a slow growing indolent cancer. There is no cure for this cancer only treatment to hopefully put it in remission. We were blown away that they found 3 nodules one behind the windpipe over 2 cm and on my chest and groin area. My spleen is massively enlarged at 22 cm which continues to give me pain even while on treatment, and my liver is enlarged at 25 cm thus the stage 4 C diagnosis. I have begun an expensive treatments already called Imbruvica 420 mg a pill. The therapy pills will have to be taken for the rest of my life. That has been approved by insurance. However, we are not sure yet about the other treatment I may have to take. The Ritaxun infusions, I had a bad reaction on the first treatment and it had to be stopped I was able to complete the round. We decided after much research that it is best to seek a second opinion especially since it appears the treatments aren't working. My bloodwork numbers have to be checked weekly and the blood work is about the same except for WBC's are ok. We have to travel to Nashville on October 14, 2019 for this second opinion. We need to start this go fund me for the unknowns of how much this will cost and or if insurance will cover it all. We are grateful it covers most of it but we just don't know if she will need more tests etc. We also don't know if or when chemo will begin and how much that is covered. We also found out our son needs braces. Any money donated will go toward our travel expenses and any repairs to our 2006 Honda Accord with over 193,000. I am currently on palliative care at West Cancer, which leaves my husband to be the caretaker. My husband works 12 hours a day at times and on his days off are for taking her to her appointments. They money will go for treatment for any copays that insurance and medicare doesn't cover. The moneys will also go for gas and any repairs we may incur too. We also need help with house etc at times especially after treatments. We also have a 13 year old we take to school etc. We pray you will consider helping us with anything to go towards gas and medications and treatments we need in order to fight this cancer that has no cure. Our best hope is remission and relief from pain for some kind of quality of life. Sometimes it is hard to stay out of bed due to the pain I am in and my legs and joint pain is getting worse. I also need some kind of help for taking care of the house. Please pray for our family. Thank you for your consideration on helping us so we can focus on the fight. This is me with our son Ryan in the picture. I am posting a picture of my diagnosis as well.
