Stephanie Groeber's Breast Cancer Fight

My close friend, Stephanie, who is a medical professional in orthopedic surgery was a victim of an internet scam in November. She lost her entire life savings. Only a few weeks later, she had a breast cancer scare, went for tests, and was diagnosed with microinvasive breast cancer, which in her case, is an aggressive, fast spreading form. She will be having a double mastectomy in a few weeks followed by reconstructive surgery months before her 40th birthday. They say bad things come in threes. She started a new job less than a year ago and does not yet qualify for short-term disability and recently lost that job and her health insurance.

As you can imagine, the medical bills are now piling up. Six months ago it would have been hard enough to pay them with her student loans but now, with her bank account drained, there is no money.

Stephanie is one of the most generous individuals I know. She is the first one to help not only her friends, but colleagues, and patients that she barely knows. Now she is in an unimaginably bad way and needs monetary assistance as well as the moral support of her family and friends. This was a lot emotionally from the scam, now physically and mentally with the cancer, it's a lot for anybody to handle in a lifetime, let alone in a matter of 6 weeks. She may even require chemotherapy postoperatively which will be determined after further pathology is taken intraoperatively.
