Stephanie’s Journey to Healing

Our mom needs support. On Friday, November 20th, my mom, Stephanie, was up in Washington helping my partner and I work on the cabin we are building, as she has been doing nearly every weekend since August. While helping this weekend, my mom fell about 7-8 feet from a ladder onto a hard wood floor. It was immediately apparent that she was severely injured, she could barely move and went into shock. Thankfully an ambulance arrived and took her to the hospital in Goldendale, WA where she has been getting care since Friday. We now know that she shattered her shoulder in the fall and fractured her pelvis. She will need a full and very complex shoulder replacement surgery. There are still a lot of unknowns about what the next days, weeks and months will look like and we are working hard to make sure my mom gets the care she needs. What we know for sure is that we need help. 

The reality of COVID-19 has made this situation even more complicated. Getting her the care she needs has been extremely difficult because most hospitals in the Northwest are overrun with COVID patients. My mom also had to close the preschool she owned months ago due to COVID and lost her source of income. 

My mom’s recovery is going to be a very long and painful process and she will be unable to generate income during this difficult time. Her medical expenses alone will be a huge financial burden, on top of losing her main source of income due to the pandemic, she has now lost any ability to work for the foreseeable future.

My sister and I are asking for help to get my mom through this difficult time. We want to alleviate the financial burden as much as possible so that she can focus on getting healthy.

Our mom has always been our hero. She is the most selfless person we’ve ever known. She raised us on her own and has accomplished so many amazing things in her life, even through the most difficult circumstances. She has spent her life helping others. Now it is her turn to heal while the people she loves help her. We appreciate any and all help.
