Stephen Friends Cancer Journey

Donation protected
After much discussion and prayer, Stephen and I have decided to share with you all everything that is going on with him health wise and the doctor’s current prognosis.

As you all know, Stephen was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer that had metastasized to peritoneum (lining of the abdomen)in October of 2022 after going to the hospital for a complete blockage in his colon. Since then he has received around 35 rounds of chemo. The first type of chemo worked extremely well and Stephen thrive on it and the cancer went in partial remission. Unfortunately, when they put him on maintenance chemo, the cancer began to grow. The next type of chemo did not stop the spread of the cancer and at the end of last year it began to grow really quickly. The cancer has spread through out his abdomen including along the top part of his intestines (under his stomach) to his gallbladder. We found out in the last hospital stay for a partial blockage of his small intestines that the cancer has also grown up around the outside of his stomach causing him not to be able to eat. This caused the insertion of a venting PEG tube along with the need for IV nutrition. Stephen is now in a good bit of pain throughout the day. With all of these things going on with Stephen, the doctors have given him a poor prognosis and have given him anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months remaining.

While these numbers are what the doctors are estimating, Stephen, our families, and I remain very optimistic that God will provide us with a miracle and cure Stephen of everything.

With all that being said, we would still like to extend an invitation to anyone that would like to come and see Stephen to come. Please feel free to message, call, or text me if you would like to set something up. My number is [phone redacted].

Stephen and I also would like to thank everyone for the out pouring of love and support we have received throughout this whole ordeal. We knew we had amazing friends, family, and community before this all started but we are completely overwhelmed by everything that y’all have done for us. We are so blessed to have you all in our lives and are so beyond grateful for each and every one of you.
