Stephen Lofton

Hi everyone. My name is Stephen Lofton. I am 38 years old. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. I am a Hayward native. I have a lot of nieces and nephews. I have 3 children of my own. I am homeless and struggle with substance abuse. But none of that makes me who I truely am. I am caring, loving, protective, helpful, greatful and bleseed. I was shot in the stomach in 2016 for helping this young lady get away from the man that was abusing her in a parking lot. He left and then came back and shot me at Sam's burgers on Hesparian blvd. I survived. But Thats just one moment of me. There are many others. I've touched so many people's lives in so many different ways that I am grateful. On Tuesday January 17th 2023 I took my life by hanging myself in my jail cell in Santa Rita jail. Me nor my family understand why. All I know is I left my family and friends devastated. All I'm asking is to help bring my family some peace and closure by donating so they can pay the cost of my funeral and help cover bills and rent since it is hard to work during this sad time. My death is currently being investigated and as we learn more about the reasonings behind this, I just ask for peace for my family, help and love from the community as i have given out to the community. For those who know me know who I really and truly am. Please take care of my family physically as I watch over them spiritually. Thank you in advance. Steven Lofton

Angie-Stephen was there for me any time i needed him! All i would do is pick him up and he'd help me with whatever i needed and he help for many days in a row. He would NEVER ask for any money. Maybe just for some cigarettes and a beer . Stephen's heart stretches across the entire Bay Area. He's touched soooo many peoples lives and cared for others 100% of the time. He has been in many horrible situation's but NEVER let that get him down.

-My name is Angie and I am raising funds for my non-biological family. Their son Steven , From what we know he committed suicide in his jail cell. The investigation is going further we will know more info once it becomes available
