My name is Steph Johnson and I am a self taught soul-jazz vocalist, guitarist and songwriter based in San Diego, CA. I am currently raising funds to self-release my 4th album, create a professional music video as well as my first EVER professional radio campaign. I have never done this before - asking my family, friends and fans to help make my dream a reality - but I feel that in order for me to get to the next step in my career, a great new album, video and radio/press campaign is crucial in helping to bring our music to the world stage. 

I have been busy touring with my trio, featuring Rob Thorsen on bass and Fernando Gomez on drums and we've had some great successes together as a musical group. This year we completed a successful tour through the southwest and we are currently on the road on the west coast. Our lastest recording "Nature Girl" did very well, garnering a nod from NBC for "Top Jazz Releases for San Diego" as well as including me in the "Top 9 Rhythm Guitarists for SD." This year we are nominated in two categories for a San Diego Music Award - "Artist of the Year" and "Best Jazz." 

So now I am going to be very honest :-) Every one one of my CDs that I have self released has been a financial struggle. I pour in all of the money that I have and often borrow funds to cover the costs. Then I spend the next year or so paying it back. I have been approached by larger festivals who like what we do but ask for a professional video. To not have this to offer them limits our exposure in front of larger audiences. 

With your help, you can make my dream become a reality of self-releasing my 4th album, creating a music video as well as participating in my first EVER radio campaign for this new release! I am so excited for this next step and all that is coming.
