Stephond & Zoe: Ghana School
Donation protected
Ghana's New Life International Orphanage is a safe haven for abandoned or orphaned children in the rural area outside of Cape Coast, Ghana.
What's that have to do with us?
Stephond and Zoe got married (wahoo!) and in lieu of gifts, they are raising funds to build New Life a brand new, multi-faceted school building that will serve both the kiddies who live there, and the greater community which is currently lacking education infrastructure. Check out their featured wedding in New York Times Vows.
What's the backstory?
Zoe has been volunteering at New Life International since 2007 when she took a leave of absence from high school in exchange for living with a host family, attending Ghanaian school, and teaching at New Life. After a few months, New Life began to feel like home, and she was fortuante enough to return in 2009 and 2010 to continue volunteering.
Stephond and Zoe started dating in 2013, and Stephond is the world's most supportive partner who understands the impact that New Life has had on Zoe, and is excited to embark on this journey. They believe it's time to give back to the community that helped to shape Zoe, and what better way to start life together as married folks than raise money and build a school?
Where are the funds going?
Steph and Zoe will be traveling to Ghana to begin implementation of the building in February, 2016. Funds will go towards:
~Covering the cost of the trip
~Funding the building materials
~Paying fair wages for contracting and building services
We believe in everyone!
We have hefty goals that we would like to surpass, and it's only possible by your generous donations! Every single cent helps. Please note, for your contribution to make its full impact, a check, venmo, or paypal transaction is preferred. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are a good person, and we love you.
