Steps for SARAC
BSDC Health and Social care students are raising money for SARAC via their Steps to SARAC fundraiser. SARAC (Sexual Abuse Rape Advice Centre) is a charity that offers free trauma support to people aged 11 and above to those who have been affected by rape and/or sexual abuse at any time in their lives. This is important because without this charity people won’t be getting the help and support that they need in a time where they need it most.
Steps to SARAC will be taking place in November in the college where our Level 3 Health and Social Care students will be walking from the 1st floor up to the 4th floor and down again 8-10 times each. The reason we decided to do this challenge is that people can often feel isolated when they contact SARAC so we are showing solidarity in climbing the college stairwells as a team. The total amount of students going up and down the stairs is the equivalent to climbing and descending Mount Everest which is 8,850 meters.
