Steps to Dignity Project Future Leaders Initiative
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Isle Polonko and I am working with an extraordinary project spearheaded by Ibrahim Bangura Cleffy. The Steps to Dignity Project seeks to build a No Hit Zone school and health clinic on donated land in rural Sierra Leone. The school would be a safe zone for children to be free from physical and sexual violence during the course of their education. The clinic would provide access to health care in an area of the country where mothers must walk long distances with sick and dying children to receive care. The health clinic would also be a safe zone for all children who get treated there, and for pregnant and birthing mothers.
The Future Leaders Initiative has many facets which provide education and support for children growing up in devastating poverty surrounded by illness and every day violence. The Steps to Dignity project is one facet of the organization. The mission of the Future Leaders Initiative is to protect, promote, empower, and educate young people about their human rights with a key focus on ending violence against children and violence against women and girls. The Steps to Dignity component focuses specifically on building the actual structure where children will be safe from violence and where families can access health care.
The team of volunteers working with the Steps to Dignity project raised almost $6000 to complete phase 1 of the project. All of the necessary cement and sand were purchased to build the cement blocks which will make up the foundation. Now, we need to build the structures. We have come so far. Your contribution would make a significant difference in the lives of the children in a country where violence is a daily occurrence both in the home and in the educational system. Your contribution would be making a difference in the lives of sick mothers and children who would finally have access to health care. Please find it in your heart to donate something towards this project.
You can find more information about the Steps to Dignity project and its affiliates by visiting their Facebook and Instagram pages and their Youtube channel.
Thank you for your generosity. Together we make a difference.
