Steptoe Family House Fire Fund
Donation protected
Robert and Lucinda Steptoe of Navasota, Texas suffered a catastrophic accidental house fire on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
It is believed that a space heater left on in the home while the family went to church was the cause.
The damage was all encompassing, destroying the home, a vehicle, and all of their worldly belongings.
The Steptoes have been a beloved local family in the community for years. When Robert was a kid, he and his brother would come out to BeeWeaver Honey Farm after school to help work the bee yards with the beekeepers. His brother worked for the Weavers of BeeWeaver for years, and after his passing, Robert came in to work at the farm too. He has been a well-loved mainstay at BeeWeaver, sharing light and love every time he's able.
As the pastor of the Little Flock Church in Wilcox, he has a loving community around him, with the Weaver's and their employees at BeeWeaver Farm included in that community. It is the representatives of BeeWeaver who are putting this fundraiser together, with Robert's blessing. He and his wife are desperately seeking aid in any form one is able to give.
Though they are always in need of financial support, they are also accepting:
Clothing
Food
Toiletries and personal care supplies
Medical Support
Mobility aids and support
Shelter
Social Resources
Labor and Resource support for the rebuilding process
The Steptoes are hoping to tear down the remains of their home and rebuild, but are currently without a stable place to stay. The Red Cross has offered some aid to the Steptoes, and they are currently staying in a hotel in Navasota, but sadly this is not sustainable for long, and financial support for lodging and medication is desperately needed.
We are currently trying to find a resource for a wheelchair-accessible mobile home or camper on site. The sizes for clothing needed are as follows:
Men's shoes, size 10W or 11
Men's shirts, size XL
Men's pants, size 38x30
Women's pants, skirts, or dresses, size 2XL
Women's shirts, size 2XL
Women's shoes, size 10w or 11
Navasota is a small but strong and tight-knit community, and we are reaching out in hopes of stirring support for one of the town's beloved sons and his family. Robert has given so much to his community through his church and his work, and we would like to be able to give back in this time of need.
If you are interested in donating material goods, please contact Brandi at BeeWeaver Honey Farm using the contact button below, or feel free to drop the items off at the farm at 16481 CR 319, Navasota TX 77868.
