Sterling Stanley's Recovery
On Nov 28th, 19 year old Sterling had a life changing dirt bike accident while spending time with family & friends at Superstition in the desert. Life Flight needed to airlift him out, he was taken to the wonderful Desert Regional Medical ICU Trauma II Center in Palm Springs, CA, undergoing surgeries repairing a shattered 5th vertebrae, broken 4th vertebrae plus wrist injury. After being incubated for over a week he was placed on ventilator via a tracheostomy. After two weeks plus in Palms Springs, Sterling was transported to his home town of San Diego, CA. He is able to move shoulders and lift arms, has some sensation in legs but at this time cannot move them. Sterling is strong physically and mentally with his life ahead of him, but the journey is going to be a long/hard one. The family is working around the clock to try and get him to Craig Hospital Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation in Colorado (craighospital.org/programs/spinal-cord-injury-rehabilitation) , Sterling is an otherwise healthy 19-year-old and going to Craig provides the best chance of him being able to walk again. Unfortunately, Sterling and his family face yet another roadblock… this facility is “out of network” and his insurance company is unwilling to authorize care for him there. Time to begin is crucial, with injuries such as his, the need to begin the proper rehabilitation is urgent.
Please help support Sterling with prayers and financial assistance to get the best medical treatment that will help him live his life to the fullest. The family thanks you, God Bless.
