Sterlon’s Cremation and Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On Wednesday, October 11, my older brother, Sterlon Mayo (III), tragically took his own life in Steamboat Springs, Colorado at the young age of 55. He had unfortunately fallen on hard times and was being evicted from his rental property. He didn’t have any savings.
Sterlon leaves behind two young adult sons whom he loved very much. Bryce is in Massachusetts living off of his student loans while attending law school. Connor just started a new job in Eagle, Colorado. As his next of kin, they weren’t financially prepared for this unexpected expense at this time in their lives.
I’m currently unemployed and in the span of eight years, I have sadly had to have my father cremated, my husband cremated, and now my brother. I’m a young widow raising an 11 year old. My mother is retired and is living on her modest social security income.
We are asking for financial assistance in covering the costs associated with Sterlon’s cremation, obituary and hopefully a future memorial or celebration of life. Any size donation — no matter how small — would be greatly appreciated and help lift the burden of this unexpected expense. Any surplus funds will be split evenly among his two sons to assist them in their lives.
If you or someone you know is suicidal, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 or text Crisis Text Line at 741741.
