Think about your worst nightmare as a parent of two young kids

Steve and Kirsty are in their early 40s, embracing the crazy, hectic lifestyle of raising a 4 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. Life with kids at this stage is not always easy, but it is absolutely worth the challenge and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

And then they got the news. Steve and Kirsty have cancer. They both have cancer. They were diagnosed on the same day. The. Same. Day.

What happens now

In December they will both begin 6-12 months of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. This will be tough. It’s tough for everyone going through it. They have limited leave entitlements from their employers. They’ll probably need to move out of their house. But to see them go through it at the same time, and with kids at that age, that’s what really breaks my heart.
