Steve Bachmann: Grand Harbor Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Many of us are devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of Steve Bachmann, a long time golf course mechanic at Grand Harbor, who passed away on November 29, 2020. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, friend and colleague that will be missed by all who knew him. From his wife, “The hole he left in our family will never be filled and we know he touched many of you, too.”
Steve grew up in the Wabasso Beach area and had a great love for the water. He was an avid boater, fisherman, scuba diver, kayaker and all around beach bum! He married his wife Sandy, of 31 years, on the beach in Key West, Florida in 1989. Steve raised two daughters, Kelsey and McKenna, and in 2018 became “Pop Pop” to grandson, Noah Steven, whom he visited weekly for swimming and “big truck” time.
Steve began his career turning a wrench in the late 70’s beside his dad at Vero Lawnmower Center and has spent the last 15 years maintaining and repairing equipment for Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club. Those that knew him knew he was much more than a mechanic and could troubleshoot, repair and tow just about anything that was given to him.
Steve was always willing to help others and brought a smile to all those he encountered. His fun loving attitude, sarcastic comments, and sense of humor will be missed by all that had the privilege to know him.
Please consider helping out his loved ones through this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and move forward in life without him. Donations will go directly to his wife, Sandy, and will help defray the cost of medical care and funeral expenses.
If you have the time and would like to know a little more about Steve this link will take you to his extremely touching obituary. Even if you didn't personally know him it's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
