Steve Brogdon Needs Help For Cancer Treatment

I am asking for help for my brother-in-law Steve Brogdon. He is the younger brother of my wife Judy Schmidt, and has been fighting esophageal cancer for 5 years. He was within a week of his 5-year clearance, when he was diagnosed with a different kind of throat cancer. This cancer is treatable, but requires a regimen of chemo and radiation. He has insurance coverage for much of the cost, but the deductibles for these treatments are high, and the Brogdon's finances have been stretched to the limits by his previous cancer. There is also a lot of travel between Enterprise AL and Birmingham involved.

I am trying to raise $5000 for Steve based on the out-of-pocket costs for his upcoming treatment and travel. The co-pays for 30 radiation treatments total about $2500, and the co-pay for the chemo is at least $500. Additionally, there are charges for the surgical implant of a feeding tube and special costly food while these treatments are ongoing. Plus an undetermined number of trips and motel stays.

Any amount you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Steve has fought hard to get well, and needs to be able to continue the fight. Prayers are requested for his health and well-being.
