My family recently experienced a huge loss. My Uncle Yano (Steve to many) passed away on Sunday, January 14th. He served in the US Army from 1970 to 1973 during the Vietnam campaign. During this time, he was exposed to Agent Orange and that would later become connected to his cancer battles. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, 2017, and again in 2021. He fought each of the battles as hard as he could but his efforts were no match for them. On December 22, he took a fall and shattered his leg leading to surgery two days later. This injury and surgery were too much for him to take and he ended up in the ICU fighting for his life. He succumbed to his health battles this past Sunday.

He was medically retired with only his social security benefits and a limited retirement and unfortunately, no life insurance to help cover the cost of services, burial, etc. He leaves behind his wife of 20 years who is working hard but just doesn’t have the ability to cover these costs as she’s still wrestling with years of medical bills and expenses.

We are asking for your help so that we can honor my uncle in the best way possible like he deserves. Please give what you can and share with others knowing that every single dollar and share is immensely appreciated.
