Steve Claffey Memorial Game

Donation protected
My name is Cameron Hall, I’m a current student in the Occupational Therapy doctoral program at the University of Florida. My twin brother, Cooper Hall (primary founder), Corbin Gill, and I (co-founder) are the founders of the Steve Claffey Memorial game hosted at the Paul Langford Stadium in Live Oak, Florida, each December. This event was created in memoriam to honor our Coach, Steve Claffey, who passed away at 45 from colon cancer in 2013. We’ve self-sponsored this event in our rural community since December 2015, raising more than $6,000 since its inception. All proceeds have been donated to families in need throughout the community. Our beneficiaries have included families that lost children unexpectedly, a former Suwannee soccer player who was injured in an automobile accident, and a former player whose daughter was born with Campomelic Dysplasia, a rare type of dwarfism. Our goal is to support the community that supported us by providing camaraderie, competition, and unity through the beautiful sport of soccer.

This year the University of Florida's Occupational Therapy Department is proudly sponsoring our event and is excited to collaborate with us to ensure this event is successful. Our gofundme page is primarily an opportunity for potential donors who cannot attend the game to make contributions to support the event. The tentative date for this year's match is December 30, 2022.
