Steve Faber Lung Transplant Expenses

My name is Jennifer Russell. My best friend Steve Faber needs a double lung transplant. He is required to stay in a hotel by Northwestern Hospital for three months following the surgery. His insurance will pay most of the medical bills but he has to pay for the hotel bill, food and other related expenses, including co-pays for the surgery. He is also required to have people with him 24/7 so that adds significant expenses for family and friends to take the train to and from, Kewanee and Chicago. Steve must have a double lung transplant because one of his lungs is already dead and the other is around 20% and has a fungal infection. He goes in for five days of testing on June 27, 2023, and two of his caretakers, myself being one, go up for a six-hour training course. We will train the other caretakers. The transplant team said it takes around 30 days to get the lungs for the surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Steve is working on getting long-term rates with a hospital discount for a hotel. We can take things, like a microwave and/or air fryer, to the hotel for cooking. Any help is APPRECIATED! Thank you.
