Steve Farenbaugh Memorial
Donation protected
We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved friend, Steve Farenbaugh, is preparing to embark on his final journey. Steve has been fighting cancer for some time, but this past week was given the difficult news that it has progressed beyond treatment. Several days ago, he entered hospice and is on medication to manage his pain.
Earlier this year Steve lost both of his parents within weeks of each other. He was their primary caretaker and was dedicated to their care. Steve’s only daughter, Lindsey, and his dear friend Nancy are now caring for Steve in his home. Lindsey also worked alongside her father at Festival for many years.
Steve began working with the Festival in 1984 when he was the vice president of Rosewood Escrow. He served as a volunteer, chairman, board member, and board president. Steve literally did it all! In 1993, Steve started the balloon glow at the Festival, beginning a cherished tradition that continues today. Steve was responsible for managing the build of the village we call Festival, living onsite for up to a month to ensure it was built to his high standards. He stepped down in 2019 to care for his aging parents.
After all that Steve has given to our community, we are asking that our community now step up to help Steve with his final costs. We are seeking funds for his medical costs, funeral expenses, and settling his estate. The Festival Family, Lindsey, and Nancy would be exceedingly grateful if you could, in any small way, contribute to his fund and provide Steve some peace of mind in his final days.
When the Festival resumes in 2021, the Saturday night Balloon Glow will be dedicated to Steve Farenbaugh in honor of his years of service to the Festival and our community.
