Steve Finch, We Gotcha Fund
Donation protected
Wednesday, July 24, 2019 Steve was involved in a freak accident. A driver of a 18 wheeler had a heart attack and collapsed at the wheel. The truck veered off the road, through the fenced in property of the warehouse tarmac in Houston, TX where Steve was working. The driver died at the scene of the accident from the heart attack. Steve was hit by the truck. He suffered severe injuries to his legs.
News Clip
Steve spent the first night in a 12 hour surgery to repair broken bones. A vein was removed from one leg to put in the other to hopefully avoid amputation. Blood flow in his legs are a major concern.
Over the next several days more surgeries are expected to follow. Currently Steve is being kept sedated with a breathing and feeding tube. The doctors believe the threat to his life is out of the woods but not for his legs. Other injuries and damage to organs are not yet known. Steve has a long road of recovery ahead of him and what that road looks like no one but God knows.
Steve's sweet mother, Terry, flew to Houston Thurday. She will be staying at a hotel near the hospital to be with her son and aid in medical decisions.

This fund will help the family provide for Steve in any way that is needed from covering his regular monthly bills until they are able to set up power of attorney, to helping his mother remain in Houston until he is able to come home. This fund will cover any medical costs not covered by insurance and the many upfront and unknown expenses the family will incur. Debbie Finch, Steve's oldest sister, will be handling the processing of funds for their mother and Steve.
Steve is a wonderful man, tall man, so full of life and himself at times. ..Bang, Bang! Yes, that was meant to make you laugh and smile just as he would want if he were writing this. Please keep Steve and the families of both Steve and the driver in your prayers. There is power in prayer. If God is for us, who can be against us?
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Thank you all for your prayers, concerns and donations. We all feel so helpless and want to help so this is our way to show Steve, we gotcha!
