Steve Floyd's Free Speech Radio

As a former interrogator & intelligence collector for the US Army, I learned a questioning technique that came in quite handy as a radio host. After 17 years in broadcast radio, I plan to transition to podcasts from home, with a focus on not just allowing, but fostering Free Speech.  The specific impetus came when I was "let go" from the radio station where I had been the morning show host for 15 years & a local talk show host for 12. Officially, the reason for being let go was a "change in programming," but everyone who heard the show in question knows that I challenged some dearly held beliefs and espoused a position that was clearly NOT popular with some in the community. Those people then put pressure on the advertisers, who, in turn, pulled their sponsorship. I refused to apologize for doing something that I do not believe to be wrong and I accept the fact that my employers felt they had to terminate. I plan to host a series of interviews and call-in shows by way of the internet, funded by a donation button, for those who appreciate the opportunity to engage in truly free speech, regardless of how unpopular the position. Real conversations. Deep questions that probe the depths of the human heart. Something to make you THINK, not just react emotionally. In order to do this, I need to turn one of the rooms in my tiny house into a studio, so I can do it from home and be with my family. From the computers to the microphones, from the mixers to the software, I am starting from SCRATCH.
