Steve Hamilton's Nephrectomy Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Our lovely brother Steve is currently recovering from a radical laparoscopic nephrectomy for early stage kidney cancer, the news of which was a massive shock to everyone when he shared his ordeal on social media just last week...

"Sorry if I’ve been a bit off the radar recently, the reason for this was a CT scan I had on July 31st...(in fact this scan was originally meant to be a different method of investigation but COVID restrictions mandated this to a CT scan with contrast which turned out to be lottery winning lucky for me.)
I got the results about a week later & all was fine for the original problem being investigated but not so great for the 6cm tumour they discovered destroying my right kidney.
I had my first video consultation with my urology specialist on my birthday (Aug 14th) where everything was explained calmly & we started looking at a course of action.
I went into hospital on September 25th & had that kidney removed along with the tumour & hopefully any traces of it from my body. It seems we found it early enough to hope for a clear outcome moving forward.
I cannot even begin to communicate how amazing my NHS consultant & entire team were through all of this. It really humbled me & raised my spirits to see how incredible human beings can be when we help each other, I owe them my life.
I’m now at home recovering for the next few weeks & looking forward to being able to exercise & getting back into some kind of action again.
Love,
Steve X "

As a family we are incredibly proud of how Steve has handled the entire situation. It has been especially difficult not to be able to visit him for the weeks and weeks leading up to his operation (due to the need for Steve to self-isolate and the last minute cancellation of his first scheduled operation) and equally frustrating not to be able to visit him since.
We're also aware that in addition to focusing on his recovery, it has been a good couple of months since he has been able to generate any income for himself as all his work commitments from the time of the scan up until the forseeable future have had to be cancelled.
We really don't want him to be stressing about anything while he's recovering and would love to think we're able to help him out in some way hence this gofundme idea.

In our unbiased opinion, Steve's an incredibly lovely, humble person who has thankfully agreed to let us try and help him in this way.

Any funds raised will be very much appreciated and we hope we can make something incredibly positive come out of a dark time for our Steve.
