Steve Lawing Funeral & Care of 10-yr old Alexis

I need your help to bury a veteran with honor per his wishes and to save a child. I am Karen Hart Huey, and my beautiful friend and assistant, Maria Eddleman, is the stepdaughter of Steve Carter Lawing - a loving father, veteran, and Papa, who died in a medical/auto accident event on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in Anderson, SC. He was 65 years old and was raising his granddaughter, Alexis Workman (10), on his own and doing a great job. Her step-Grandma and Maria’s mom, Jeanette Brannan Lawing, suddenly passed away in 2013, leaving Steve to raise Alexis on his own. After he dropped her off at school on Tuesday and began to drive to work, he suffered a cardiac event and then crashed into another vehicle and died. 

Maria is in SC trying to make proper funeral arrangements and trying to work her way through the County Social Services department to make sure that Alexis is cared for and has a bright future. She needs attorneys to help her with this. I ask that you think of his service to our country, but more importantly his service to his granddaughter - who is now without her Grandma and Papa. He deserves a proper burial and Alexis deserves a safe, loving home and a future. Thank you for reading and for giving what you can to support this cause.
