Steve Nicoli Family Fund

This week we lost a pillar of our community and our hearts are so heavy. Steve Nicoli was an Army veteran, a father and step-father, husband-to-be, the founder of Hudson Valley Honor Flight, Commander of American Legion Post 158 and so much more. He was the best brother, the fun uncle, a wonderful friend and the best son two parents could ask for. Steve was 42 years old, and taken from us and his family unexpectedly and far too soon. His passion for veterans, our community, and his family was apparent to anyone who interacted with him.

Steve lost his battle with COVID-19 and it was a devastating loss to all of us. He fought so hard over the past month and the Nicoli family and Steve's fiancé, Nicole, truly appreciated the messages of love and prayers. Steve and his family are not the type of people to ask for help. They always have been the people who have been there for others and asking how they can help. That is why we have organized this GO FUND ME page on their behalf. With all the emotional stress an unexpected death brings, it also brings financial burdens. With so many questions on what the future will bring, we wanted to emphatically let the Nicoli family and his beautiful fiancé, Nicole, know that they have the support of the community behind them.

Steve's sudden passing is especially tragic in that he leaves behind his 13-year-old son Mikey, who also lost his mother, Marie, in 2013. At the age of 13, and with a birthday coming up next week, Mikey will have to adjust to life moving forward, after losing both of his parents. While money will never fill the void, it certainly will help the family tackle some of the issues that they will face in the days, weeks and months ahead.

We are trying to raise money for Nicole, the boys and the Nicoli family to offset the costs they will incur and to support them wherever needed. Every little bit will help. I truly believe it is in these hard times of loss and sadness when our community comes together in the most beautiful way, to support the people we care about.
