Today, Cancer robbed the world of a truly incredible soul. The husband, father, son, friend and colleague we know and love is finally at peace physically, but leaves behind a gaping hole in the hearts of his dearest friends and family. To say he’s gone too soon is simply an understatement.

While no one can, nor will, replace who Steve was to each of us, we can carry on his legacy. Collectively, we can celebrate his infectious smile, captivating personality, bravery, and charisma for life. We can share our stories and relive our best Steve moments. We can cheer on the Florida Gators and Atlanta Braves. And, we can continue working on all of the little things he’s taught us about college football, the Keys, fishing, building, listening and leading, parenting, living and loving.

As we move forward with broken hearts and disbelief, organizing this GoFundMe is the least we can do, as we keep Steve’s ride or die, Alicia, and his one-year-old daughter, Ainsley Sage, in our thoughts and prayers. Any funds raised here are dedicated to Steve’s celebration of life, Ainsley’s college fund, cost of living, and Sarcoma Cancer research…because “We Battle Together.”
