Steve Radic Emergency Fund

As many of you are already aware, Steve Radic suffered a major heart attack at the age of 45. Late Thursday the 11th, just after midnight, Steve walked into the living room fully dressed letting his wife Erika know he thought he should go to the fire station. Something just didn’t feel right. Erika jumped up and drove him straight there. The first responders found he was having a heart attack. Within minutes he was put in an ambulance and taken directly to the airlift site on Vashon Island. While in the helicopter, Steve suffered three cardiac arrests and after arriving to Harborview Medical Center suffered more cardiac arrests, coding six additional times. Thankfully with the help of CPR, meds and defibrillator paddles, they were able to successfully resuscitate Steve each time. Shortly after, they placed a stent in his heart and inserted a pump to circulate his blood. With this massive trauma came substantial damage to the right side of the heart requiring the hospital to place his heart on a pump, intubate him to assist with breathing and put him in a medically induced coma. He was then transported via ambulance to UW Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he remains today.
Steve is a self-employed Sole owner and employee of MidSound Plumbing. He is the father of two young boys, Mack and Dominik and husband to Erika Radic. Steve and his family are long time residents and island favorites of Vashon Island. As the main income provider for the family, this major trauma has put financial stress on the family along with mounting medical bills. Erika has been by his side every minute of this traumatic ordeal and will be there throughout his expected long and intense recovery. The Vashon Island community, family and friends have been an incredible outpour of love and support. The family is beyond grateful for the words of encouragement and positivity in this touch and go situation. The quick and accurate response of all First Responders involved will forever be appreciated.
Funds are being raised on behalf of Erika Radic to help pay substantial medical bills and home bills while Erika stays by Steve’s side and maintains a loving home for their two boys and family. All support is appreciated in this time. It is a wonderful thing when a community can come together to support one of its own. Please comment all well wishes you would like Steve to hear. Messages will be read to him as he comes to.
In person donations can be made at Chase Bank under Erika Radic. Updates will soon be posted on www.steveradic.com along with other ways to give or upcoming events.
