Steve Ratzlaff Recovery Fund

We are starting this to raise money for our dad, Steve Ratzlaff and his wife Karen , to help cover some of the costs associated with his injury and hospitalization .Steve was severely injured by a cow on May 9th 2018 while separating cows in Dalhart.  He was airlifted that day to northwest Texas hospital with a visibly broken ankle and shoulder and two collapsed lungs , upon arrival they discovered his spleen was busted and had to be removed, his liver was lacerated and he had major internal bleeding and was rushed to the operating room. The doctors removed his spleen and repaired his liver and a tear in his abdomen, they reinflated his lungs and put chest tubes in and he was placed on a ventilator for breathing, once he was stable enough they performed a ct scan which revealed he had also suffered broken vertebrae in his cervical and lumber spine as well and 11 broken and crushed ribs on his left side and 7 on his right, the other shoulder was also damaged and he had multiple scrapes and bruises from the accident. The doctors expect him to recover but it will be a long long road ahead of him with multiple surgeries and a great deal of physical therapy . We are hoping this fund can help offset some of the costs that he and Karen will have on this long journey to recovery. We appreciate you support and prayers .
