Stephen thanks you for your prayers and support

With deep sadness, I regret to inform family, friends, and the community that my husband, Stephen Strode, was randomly attacked on Saturday, December 10, 2022. The full details are not clear but what is known is that Steve was driving on the Dan Ryan Expressway when he was rear-ended by another vehicle. When Steve pulled over to assess the damage to his car, the two people in the vehicle that hit him exited their vehicle and then viciously, without provocation, attacked Steve and left him for dead.

Family, friends, co-workers, and everyone who has prayed for Steve's recovery, it pains me to share that Steve lost his battle to survive the senseless attack that two individuals, who have yet to be apprehended, inflicted upon him on December 10, 2022, a day that would otherwise be spent celebrating his 59th birthday. The one silver lining that we all can be thankful for is that even in death, Steve's generosity continues as an organ donor, and others will be granted the continued gift of life because of Steve.

 

Your prayers and support mean so much to our family, and we thank you. We are now faced with planning funeral arrangements for Steve and figuring out how to move on without the daily love and support we will sorely miss from Steve.  The physical void of losing my husband will never be filled, but I thank everyone for the outpouring of love and care that has been and will continue to be showered upon my family and me.

 

Funds from this Go Fund Me campaign will be used to cover Steve's funeral expenses, outstanding personal expenses and to start a foundation in Steve’s honor to pay tribute to his humanitarian spirit.
