Steve & Trevor’s Mission Trip to Africa!

Dear Family & Friends (and anyone else that this letter finds!),

We, the Sullivan family, are reaching out to share some exciting news. In just a few short days, Steve and Trevor will be headed to Namibia, Africa on a mission trip. As some of you may know, Steve went to Senegal, Africa in 2015, as well as Mexico in 2007. It has been a long-time hope and prayer that one day his children would be able to join him on a mission trip. Trevor was under a year old when this hope was rooted and almost 16 years later, it's finally happening. Below you will find all the details about what this trip and their mission entails, but first, we wanted to briefly share how you can support our family.

Our family has built its foundation on the faith and hope of Jesus Christ. It is through Him, and Him alone, that this opportunity has presented itself. sometimes it can be challenging to know what we're called to do when we're called to do it, and why. Through lots of prayer, and learning to trust God more and more on this walk, we're thankful that He made THIS calling pretty easy for us to know without a doubt. One of the prayers we've consisitently leaned on over the last year or so is, "God, please shut the door if it is not Your will, or leave it wide open, because we just can't know without You." This prayer has undeniably been answered, sometimes within minutes, each and every time. This trip, and all the details that come along with it, were put into prayer. Our family's trust grew beyond measure.

We ask that you consider praying to God for our family during this trip, along with their team and the lives they will impact during their mission; for their safety and their families back home, and for God to provide all that is needed for this mission to be successful. It's never a fun thing to ask for money, but this trip wouldn't be possible without it. We know everyone can't give, and we absolutely understand. Namibia 2023

There will be 6 of us traveling and joining a small team from TN and a team from South Africa. We will be partnering with local pastor, Rev. Domingo Kamonga and his family. In Africa, project-building projects are not like projects here. There you do what you can afford, then wait, do some more, wait some more... and years go by before buildings are finished. In this case, we will be roofing a building and constructing a library, as well as desks/tables/chairs for classrooms. The facility is used as a multi-purpose center within the community. Providing many families their only access to education, books, and any sort of "community" center where they can gather. In addition - this center supports outreach to hundreds of local children by providing meals on a regular basis. On Sunday alone, they feed about 350 children.
