Steve Moyer Memorial Home Run

It seemed that Steve Moyer knew everyone in the baseball world. Sitting at a ballgame, hanging out in a bar after a game, Steve might nudge you and say, "Hey, that's so-and-so, the former GM of this team, or that." 

This might seem a little grandiose, but later hands would be shaken, greetings exchanged, and then we'd go back to talking about baseball stats, bass lines, or something else, maybe personal, maybe arcane. But always something. There were so many topics.

Steve had a way of breaking down barriers, drawing in the best people and holding onto them tightly. At the same time, he had high standards, didn't take any guff, and liked his music loud. He had so many best people.

Steve died this past weekend unexpectedly, all too young. He leaves behind two daughters, Harmony and Mary, who he loved very much. As large a legacy of friends and colleagues as he has left behind, he does not leave his daughters much financial help.

These funds will go to provide support for his daughters, on an as-needed basis. 

The funds will be administered by Peter Kreutzer and Jeff Erickson, with whom he was a member of Tout Wars, the XFL , and Rock Remnants , groups he loved and to which he contributed generously.

We miss him very much, and that's just beginning.
