A last update
Hey all this is our last update on Steve. We had a conference with his medical team and they believe he will not recover from his injuries. He is in a vegetative state, and lack consciousness. We thank you for all your prayers and positive vibes.

Hey here is another update on Steven Branch Jr,
He is currently in his first intensive rehab facility and things have been progressing. He has been getting continued physical therapy and occupational therapy. The speech therapist has been working with him to successfully get him off the trach. They have been able to place a speaking valve on him to see how he responds. No words yet but it is good progress. His care team has been very nurturing and informative. Doctors are still in the process of getting him to wake up more from his coma. He is still currently unable to speak and walk.
As he transitions to his second rehab facility they will work on his mobility more. We know the first year with a traumatic brain injury can be uncertain but with the good care he has been getting so far we feel confident in the success of this health journey. He is still surrounded by family, friends and the support of community.
Please continue to hold positive thoughts, pray and hope with us, we know every thought and deed is helping.
Love the Branch Family
UPDATE : Hey everyone, thank you for the support and kind words. Steven is still at UW hospital, in the intermediate care depart, which is a step down from the ICU. He has been able to breathe without a ventilator (currently on a cpap and feeding tube) and the doctors stated he is no longer in a coma, though still unconscious at times. We are seeing progress and hopeful that in time he will recover to be able to speak, communicate and walk.
He has been getting physical therapy and occupational therapy as well. He has been opening his eyes and moving his limbs some. The UW neuro department has been very supportive and he has a good medical team.
Within the next weeks, Steve will be transferred to a 24-hour rehabilitation center outside of Milwaukee where he will most likely be for the next year. We are still in the process of navigating this new life while also overseeing Steven’s personal life matters while he is unable to.
Thanks again for the support and prayers, and hope. It really does mean a lot to the Branch family and we truly believe the positive energy being placed upon Steve has been helping in his healing journey.

Hey Everyone, on Monday, July 10th, our brother Steven Branch Jr. was struck by a car while walking on the Northside of Madison. He was in a crosswalk and the driver was taking a left, not paying attention, and hit him. Steven was sent to UW Hospital. He has suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken limbs. He is currently on life support and we are uncertain of the outcome. We are still waiting for him to wake up from his coma. It has been a stressful time for the family.
We are asking for assistance and positive thoughts. The recovery process for Steven will be extensive. The doctor stated that he will need 24-hour care moving forward, and will be paralyzed, but we are hopeful for a better outcome. We are discussing options with the doctors. Funds would be used for medical support and assistance for the family which includes his two teenage boys. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this message. Everything has been so sudden. Keep us in your thoughts and send good energy our way. Come home Steven Branch ❤️
