Steven & Megan Lahaina Fire Recovery Fund

We learned of Steven & Megan’s story through Steven's stepfather, who lives in NC. Steven & Megan have lived in Lahaina, Maui for 13 years. Only a few weeks before the fires that devastated Lahaina, they purchased their first home after years of saving. Now, they face uncertainty about whether they will ever be able to return to their home due to the extent of the damage. Steven worked for Kohola Brewing, which was lost in the fire. The restaurant that Megan worked for was also impacted by the fire and is closed indefinitely. Although they lost their home and their jobs, they were incredibly fortunate to be able to escape to safety with their two cats, Julius & Putu. Initially after the fires, their only option was to sleep in their car, but a generous friend has recently opened their Maui home to Steven & Megan, though they still have no access to cell service, power, or other important utilities. Like many other residents of Lahaina, the financial burden of this disaster weighs very heavy on Steven & Megan as they figure out how to rebuild their lives.
