Steven Miller Laboratory for Liver Cancer Research

Last summer, my father passed away suddenly from liver cancer. 

To say my father was an extraordinary person would be a severe understatement. From a young age he taught me how to be resilient and hard-working but always emphasized the importance of humor and fun as well. He always congratulated me on my achievements and always nudged me to go further. This push is what drove me to achieve highly in everything I do, and my brother can definitely say the same. I would not be in the same spot I am today academically and personally if it wasn't for his support. I still frequently contemplate my dad's advice and miss him dearly every single day. 

My mother works at Baruch S Blumberg Institute, a nonprofit that dedicates its research to finding treatments and potential cures for liver diseases and earlier detection of liver cancer. Currently, the organization is constructing new labs to streamline liver cancer research. My family and my father's friends and co-workers would love to have one of the labs in his name. As I mentioned, my dad was a humorous man. He would laugh at the thought of a lab being named after him. But he would always tell me to do what I am passionate about, and I am very passionate about honoring him and his memory, so please consider donating.
