Hello friends of Steven. I can't believe it's been a year and here we are again. Here's the whole story. In the year that has passed Steve has had major surgery to remove a section of his intestines to remove some cancer. They sewed him up and sent him home. He, within a day or so, was screaming in pain and super sick. Alisa took him to Mariners Hospital where they sent him to Miami. There, they realized after some catscans that he had sepsis and was septic. They opened him back up and disconnected his reconnection and put him on a ostomy bag. He was in the ICU for a week b4 they could send him home with the open incision and still on the bag till he was good to go for the reconnection. The open incision is a slow heal from the inside out to the surface. Wet to Dry they call it. So from that point on they, Steve and Alisa had to keep him sterile by changing the bags often and changing the bandages on the incision every other day. Insurance does not pay for gauze or tape. He also needed nurse care every other bandage change with insurance only covering once a week. So out of pocket for nurse care twice a week. FOR A YEAR ! I'm sorry, frustrated his doctors let it go this long. He did lose a ton of weight tho, so he needed to get stronger for this surgery he had on 6/30/24. When he went in this time and he was so happy to finally be headed back to being who he was b4. He hated that bag. He felt a certain way about it that i never felt i needed to ask. I get it tho. I use supplemental oxygen and have my own type of bag. He had grown so much since last year, he was loving again and from his shell he was so full of life. He couldn't wait to get back to playing for all of us. Shredding his guitars, making music, writing songs. He had recently started playing again a few mins at a time. He was getting stronger and exiceted about his next move.

Now here we are. A year later, his reconnection done, good bye bag, sewed back up and sent to room, after abservation its back to ICU for emergency surgery to disconnect him and slab the bag back on him. He is septic again. Can't sew him back up all the way yet and in ICU for a week now under heavy sedation and his eyes taped shut. This is not an easy write as Steven is generally a private individual, not until recently has he become more open. We feel you all should know where Steven is at now, in this part of his ordeal. Those that are alive know what it costs to maintain a home and two vehicles and just plain bills without medical bills such as co-pays and deductibles. Finances have run thin as the bills have not stopped coming in and having only one income has caught up on them.

Therefore

I'm asking that again we reach deep and help out one of our own, a friend, someone that has always givin himself and his talent to others. Alisa has spent every day with Steven and commuting everyday to be with her husband. I know we can all pitch in just a lil or a lil more. I would never ask for me, but this guy deserves all the help we can muster up ! If you can't help monetarily you can still help with positive thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for caring and taking the time to read this.

Well, here we are. Its the middle of February and no definite date for Stevens surgery. Somehow he has fallen thru the cracks and has now found himself in the middle of weak and sicker. The gofundme and the benefit money is close to gone as he has to pay out of pocket for extra nurse visits for wound care and ALL the other associated costs with keeping sterile and being able to evacuate his bowels. It's also been 4mos. since the benefit. My hope this time around is for all Steven's friends to share this campaign on their walls to garner some attention to his situation from their friends that may be able to help a friend of a friend. Hope that made sense. Some have agreed that this is acceptable and a way to go because Steven still needs help. We have yet to even touch on the stress that no answers to the issues at hand has created on his emotional state. Thanks for listening. More to come soon.

Hello y'all, it's me again. I wanted to share some after the benefit news. Steven has had a set back and is still not out of the woods by any means. It's a constant battle as he and his body both fight this battle called his life. I can't stand it for him or Alisa to have to go thru this everyday of their lives. They are both modest and positive ppl , and thankful, but I fear that they will run out of money before they complete their mission to having Steven healthy. I'm asking that we kick this thing into gear and make one last push towards helping them to not have to have the constant worry of finances for the simplest of needs. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again that this is a journey and not a sprint. Steven is scheduled for reconnection first week of November then hopefully it will be just rest and recovery from there.

Any and all donations are deeply appreciated. No amount is to small and if you can't sent a monetary donation then just send love as that is as valuable and dearly appreciated as well !

As always, Thanks

Hello y'all.

I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you all for your donations so far towards Steven's care. They have asked me to thank you all for them. He and Alisa are very grateful. I'd would like to ask that we finish strong on this campaign and reach into your pockets so we can realize this goal. The benefit will be a big help to reaching this goal so we are almost there! Every little bit helps and it just makes things a little bit easier. These two, the Miller's, are so deserving of our help. Please help to support him.

To my keys kids:

Steven is one of us. We may not all know each other but we are all keys kids. I'm asking each and every one of you to please help our schoolmate. He is a good man with a big heart and needs us to rally around like we did in the senior circle and show the love. If you can give please do and if not then at least come to the benefit and listen to some good music and hang out with friends.

LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH !

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Hi again. I just wanted to make an impassioned plea for donations no matter how small as Steven has had a set back and his needs have increased. In short his stoma is leaking into his abdomen and if he gets sepsis then he could die. Its real serious. So now, more frequent nurses to keep him sterile and blood work more frequently. It adds up fast and we have not talked gauze and tape, ect.. So, just to show that every little bit helps I'm gonna give another donation to start it off. I can't sit by and do nothing to help him now, while he's alive and he and his wife are struggling. I just won't ! Those that have not donated Im asking you to open your hearts and help Steven and Alisa as they are a team in this. Those that have, I'm asking that you consider another small donation as everything helps. Steven is a good egg. He is caring and has a big heart. He is also an artist so he is in his own head and just won't ask for help. He is a giver. BUT, I will ask for him. He is so super appreciative of the love and support you all have shown. He has shown that on his FB page. He is now a couple weeks behiñd but hopes are for reconnection in a couple months. He has a long hard road ahead of him and it's not going to be easy for them. Steven or his wife Alisa. I can't stress enough that the goal of $10k is real. He has at least 5-6 months left of recovery if, and I say if, everything goes well from this point forward. Unfortunately that's not been his luck.

Thanks for listening and for your consideration. Peace Love Togetherness

Hello all, I'm Daniel Kohn and I'm here asking for all of y'all's help so Steven can focus on getting better and back on his feet. Steven has played locally for most all of his life and played at so many benefits that it's time we as friends and community give back in his time of need. He had some abdominal surgery and it didn't go as planned and he has to go thru it all again in a couple months. He can't work and the financial strain is real. If you can, please donate something as anything will help get him back on the stage giving his time to make us all feel good. Everything giving will be for Stevens life expenses, like rent, medical supplies, co-pays and everyday life expenses. He is lucky enough to have insurance for the doctors and hospital.

Music IS his life and we know he has givin so many of us life when we were down thru his music. Let's help our friend get thru this and make beautiful music again ! We love you Steven !
