Steven Santos Memorial Scholarship

Steven Santos, to many of us, was light personified. He majored in Astronomy and Physics here at the University of Washington. Outside of his academic interests, he served as FASA sa UW’s Cultural Chair and was the historian for UW Chorale.
Our FASA community watched him grow from quiet and withdrawn to being everyone's favorite introvert. He came out of his shell and was lead actor in Filipino Night 2018, Scriptwriter and Assistant Director in 2019, and our Cultural Chair and Director for this year’s Filipino Night. He became our Cultural Chair because he saw being an officer as an opportunity for him to “return the favor by bringing people together through FilNight and helping to build stronger connections within the FASA community.”
Steven had such a deep love for performing arts. He regularly showcased his talent in storytelling and music composition on his Youtube channel. Steven was a good friend to everyone who knew him. He was known to be the first person to offer help whenever anyone was in need. Whether it was a smile or a hand to hold, Steven was there with kindness, support, and the ability to understand and connect with others around him.
We are raising funds for a scholarship in Steven's honor. This scholarship will be given to a FASA sa UW community member on Filipino Night as an annual tribute to him. 100% of the donations from this will go to this scholarship fund. FASA sa UW will match at least $500 every year for a total of a $1000 annual scholarship.
